King Charles is to resume some public engagementsafter encouraging progress in his cancer treatment,Buckingham Palace has said.

However it won't be a full return to officialengagements for the King, who began his treatment in February.

The type of cancer has not been disclosed. Thepalace said the King's doctors were "very encouragedby the progress made so far and remain positive aboutthe King's continued recovery". However they said itwas "too early to say" how much longer his treatment would continue.

King Charles will begin his partial return to publicengagements with a symbolic trip to a cancertreatment centre. The palace said he would undertakemore external engagements and host a state visit bythe Emperor and Empress of Japan.
