Ramses is a young man indoctrinated into a religious sect whose father is very ill, and near death on a life-support machine. Needing the permission of Ramses to turn off the machine, his sister Natasja rescues him from the sect. Slowly but surely Ramses becomes used again to the real world and develops a mind of his own.
