Protests against the war in Gaza have been takingcentre stage at college campuses across the US.

Activists have been calling for universities to "divestfrom genocide" and to stop investing large schoolendowments in companies involved in weaponsmanufacturing and other industries supporting Israel's war in Gaza.

Students at Columbia University in New York set up aprotest encampment a week ago. The university askedNew York city police to clear the camp on 18 April, andofficers arrested about 100 people.

In Texas and California, police confronted campusprotesters and made dozens of arrests.
