Enflaming of a Mayan Incense Burner

I went on another cruise vacation this year and one of the trips took me to Belize City. I had an excursion over at Gran's Farm and the old lady there prepared this incense for us tourists to smell. I forgot what the history behind it, but I hear that the Ancient Mayans uses this incense for sacred rituals.
