Maldives president’s party projected to win election, tilt towards China expected

The political party of Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu appears to have achieved a landslide victory in parliamentary elections. The People's National Congress party has a reputation of being pro-Chinese, and has been moving away from nearby India as it looks for sources of future development.
