Ingredients for keema patties:

250g chicken keema
2 tbsp oil
2 tbsp chopped spring onions
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1 green chili ( chopped )
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp black pepper powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/3 cup yogurt
1/2 tbsp chopped coriander
1/4 cup chopped capsicum
1/2 tsp red chili powder
4 pastry sheets (thawed, if frozen)
1 Egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk ( for egg wash )

Instructions:

1. Thaw the pastry sheets according to the package instructions.
2. Heat oil in a wok over medium heat. Add chopped spring onions, chopped garlic, green chili and sauté for 30-40 seconds.
3. Add minced chicken to the wok and cook until it changes color and is no longer pink.
4. Add red chili powder, black pepper powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt and mix well.
5. Add yogurt and cook on medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes.
6. Next, add chopped capsicum and cook for a minute.
7. Add lemon juice, chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
8. Remove the filling from heat and let it cool down.
9. Add egg yolk, milk in a bowl and mix well. Set aside.
10. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
11. Using a glass, cut the pastry sheets into 8 circles. This will give you 4 top circles and 4 bottom circles.
12. Take the 4 bottom circles and apply a thin layer of egg wash around the edges of each circle.
13. Now, place a a spoonful of the keema filling in the center of each circle, ensuring not to overfill and leaving some space around the edges.
14. Cover the keema filling with the top circles.
15. Gently press down the edges to seal them.
16. Crimp the edges with a fork.
17. Place the filled puff pastries on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
18. Brush the tops of the pastries with egg wash.
19. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until the puff pastry turns golden brown.
20. Once done, remove the keema puff pastries from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
21. Serve and enjoy!
