Foods that fight cancer - broccoli sprouts!

🌱 Studies suggest that a compound called sulforaphane has strong anti-cancer properties. Sulforaphane is a phytochemical that is naturally found in cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli 🥦, cabbage , and kale, but it is quite high in broccoli sprouts. Because of this, I decided to grow some! And… it only takes 5 days!
🥗 Feel free to add it to most meals, such as sandwiches, salads, etc. They taste earthy
and perhaps somewhat similar to alfalfa sprouts. I like squeezing lemon and adding either salt/pepper or Frank’s hot sauce on top, when combining it to food as a topping. Of note, there are white frizzy things (root hairs) that appear after the 1st day or 2– and can be confused with mold, but part of the growing process!
🌿Getting mold should depend on how well you wash it (use filtered water), the humidity and cleanliness of the environment, how much it’s aerated and able to drain water from the container (hence the holes on the lid). If I need to rinse them, I use 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water after rinsing with water first. I didn’t have mold during my growing process and of course eating it sooner rather than later will avoid mold from growing ! People who are immunocompromised should be extra cautious when eating/growing sprouts and other raw foods. Talk to your health providers for questions on this.
⚠️These sprouts along with other foods that have anti-cancer properties should not be used as a treatment for cancer. They can be eaten to help lower risk of getting cancer but do not replace cancer treatments like immunotherapy, chemotherapy, etc.

About the photo:
Pumpkin seeds, also known as pepitas, are packed with nutrients and offer several health benefits:
Nutrient-rich: Pumpkin seeds are rich in various nutrients, including magnesium, zinc, iron, and antioxidants like vitamin E. They also contain healthy fats, protein, and fiber.
Heart health: The magnesium and antioxidants in pumpkin seeds may help lower blood pressure and improve heart health. Additionally, their high magnesium content may help regulate blood sugar levels.
Prostate health: Some studies suggest that the compounds found in pumpkin seeds may support prostate health and help reduce the risk of prostate enlargement and related conditions.
Improved sleep: Pumpkin seeds are a good source of tryptophan, an amino acid that the body converts into serotonin, which in turn can be converted into melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleep. Consuming pumpkin seeds may help improve sleep quality.
Immune support: The zinc content in pumpkin seeds is essential for a healthy immune system. Adequate zinc intake can help support immune function and may reduce the risk of infections.
Bone health: Pumpkin seeds are a good source of magnesium, which is important for bone health. Adequate magnesium intake is associated with a lower risk of osteoporosis and improved bone density.
Antioxidant properties: Pumpkin seeds contain antioxidants like vitamin E and carotenoids, which can help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals and may reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
Weight management: Despite being calorie-dense, the combination of protein, healthy fats, and fiber in pumpkin seeds can help promote feelings of fullness and satiety, which may aid in weight management when consumed as part of a balanced diet.
Incorporating pumpkin seeds into your diet can be easy and delicious. They can be eaten raw, roasted, or added to salads, soups, or baked goods for a nutritious boost.

The farmer protests are reaching Canada, particularly in Quebec where protests are gaining momentum in recent days in the face of the crisis in the sector.
Justin Trudeau is putting a 23% carbon tax hike on farmers and it's killing their livelihoods.

And Now they want a blooming Carbon Tax!
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was one of the most prosperous in the world... We had absolutely no national debt, had a large middle class, a huge manufacturing base, and Mum stayed home to raise the kids.
What in the happened? Could it be the lying parasitic politicians wasting our money?
Oh, and don't forget the relatively new bank charges....
And we all know what we think of Bankers.
