Robert Frost - Nothing Gold Can Stay - Great Poems

‘Nothing Gold Can Stay’ is one of the great poems written by Robert Frost. This short poem is about the impermanence of life. It describes the fleeting nature of beauty by discussing time’s effect on nature.

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
