The United States has agreed to withdraw more than 1,000 military personnel from the West African nation of Niger. The move came after US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell met with Junta-appointed Nigerian Prime Minister Ali Lamine Zeine on April 19. As of last year, there were over 1,000 US troops in Niger, operating in two bases, including a drone base known as Air Base 201 near Agadez in central Niger, which was built at $110 million. Watch
