New York police identify man who set himselfon fire outside Trump trial court | BBC News

The man who set himself on fire outside the New Yorkcourthouse where Donald Trump's hush-money trial is happening has been identified.

NYPD say the man has been identified as MaxwellAzzarello, from St Augustine, Florida.

They say Azzarello arrived in New York a few days ago, and the pamphlets he threw before the incident were"conspiracy based".

He is alive, but in a critical condition.

Police believe Azzarello was motivated byconspiracies, and was not targeting any people or any particular groups.
