Surgeon-general urges everyone to carry naloxone

Naloxone — which you might know by the brand name Narcan — can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and help the victim live long enough to receive help from medical professionals. Dr. Jerome Adams, the United States Surgeon General, said Wednesday he believes more ordinary Americans should carry naloxone to help overdose victims they may encounter in daily life.
