🇷🇺🇹🇯 Joint bilateral exercise of Russian and Tajikistan armed forces starts in Tajikistan

15.04.24 - The opening ceremony of the exercise took place at the Kharb-Maydon mountain-desert training ground in Khatlon region of Tajikistan. The joint bilateral exercise takes place from April 15 to April 18, 2024.

The event traditionally began with the general formation of military personnel. The national anthems of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan were performed by military bands, and the national flags of the two countries were solemnly raised. The participants of the exercise marched in a single formation on the parade ground of the field camp.

During the exercise, the military contingents of the two countries are practicing the organisation of the use of armed forces to destroy terrorist gangs, training units to perform tasks in mountainous terrain, as well as managing units during the cover of the state border and the destruction of illegal armed formations that have broken through.

The Russian military contingent is based on units of the 201st Russian military base of the Central Military District: mountain, motorised rifle, tank, artillery, reconnaissance units, as well as crews of Mi-24 attack helicopters and Mi-8MTV5-1 transport and combat helicopters. In addition, specialists from the NBC protection, unmanned aerial vehicles, and mobile electronic warfare groups will be involved in the exercise. Source 🔹 Russian Defence Ministry
