Stunning White Buffalo calf spotted in Kruger National Park

You’re cruising through Kruger National Park, soaking in the wild beauty with Viva Safaris. Your guide’s pointing out all the usual suspects – lions, elephants, the works. But just when you think you’ve seen it all, bam! You spot something that stops you dead in your tracks.
Erin Simon, a nature buff like no other, was on just such a safari when it happened. They were checking out the roads near Satara Rest Camp, famous for its lion crew. But instead of lions stealing the show, it was a baby buffalo making waves – and not because of its size.
This little calf was sporting a coat as white as snow in a herd of regular, dark-coated buffaloes. Erin couldn’t believe her eyes. She whipped out her binoculars for a closer peek and confirmed: yup, this was the real deal – fully white and totally adorable.

Turns out, this calf’s unique look is thanks to a genetic quirk called leucism. Basically, it’s like the pigmentation went on vacation, leaving behind a one-of-a-kind buffalo that sticks out like a sore thumb.
Despite being the odd one out, the herd treated this little guy like family. It’s like they didn’t even notice his standout style. And as the sun dipped low, casting that golden African glow, Erin couldn’t help but wonder: will this funky color job help or hurt the baby buffalo as he grows up in the wild?
