The full meeting of the Fairfield County Commissioners' weekly meeting for April 16, 2024.

The meeting began with an update from Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission on Metropolitan Transportation Strategies and Projects presented by Transportation Director, Nick Gill.

Public Comments portion was next, beginning at 22:56 and running through 39:10. Commissioner Fix made an opening statement about regular out-spoken attendee, Judy Stemen being in hospice care and that she may not be returning as such. Us here at Rogue Media Reports will be keeping Judy and her husband Ray in our prayers.

First to speak was Jeff Williamsen of Greenfield Township pointing out industrial solar is more about grabbing government subsidized money rather than protecting the environment or sustainable energy production.

Celina McCord of Millersport was next and spoke about programs and assistance available to farmers rather than selling or leasing land to industrial solar.

Next was Sherry Pymer of Walnut Township and Citizens for Fair Fields, and while thanking the commissioners for making all 13 townships exclusionary zones within Fairfield County, the fight still continues against the existing projects. www.CitizensForFairFields.org

Stephanie Taylor of Habitat for Humanity then gave an update on area projects. www.Habitat.org

Beverly Sturm of Lockbourne, OH and while not a county resident thanked the Commissioners for the exclusion zones on behalf of family residing in the county.

Lastly, Jerry Starner of Amanda Township also thanked the Commissioners and offered any future assistance to them.

The remainder of the meeting were items related to the regular Legal Update and County Administrative Update(s) and the commission's "voting pattern".
