Shape-shifting UFO over Italy

It's January 9, 2017, and we're in the heel of the Italian boot.
At 7.38 p.m., Lucio Margiota, a teacher at the Music Academy of Salento,
records something strange in the sky.

A glowing orb appears to bob in the sky.

And it slowly expands into an elongated cigar-like shape.
It's a great thing.

And continues to expand until it forms a circular doughnut.
