When A24's CIVIL WAR wins the weekend, you know your industry is in trouble.

2024 looked like a barren wasteland after the dual strikes of Hollywood in 2023, but did anyone think it would be this bad? Several high profile bombs like Argyle and Madame Web look to foreshadow other releases like Aliens: Romulus and Gladiator 2. The updated projections still have 2024 behind last year and well behind anything in recent memory.

If Cinema isn't dead, this certainly is a terminal diagnosis.
