The news media is broken and it's causing more harm than good

The news media broken beyond belief and can no longer afford to behave the way it always has.

It's desperate need to break news first is causing more harm than good.

Nobody is sitting at home switching between seven and nine seeing who’s coming out with the name of the killed first.

This industry is indistinguishable from public relations. It’s no longer news. It serves its masters - whether their financial backers or an ideology which has overtaken it -

I’ll do a deep dive on this at some point in the future

But for now we need to forget about these abhorrent organisations and work on healing - supporting the people whose lives have been devastated - and making sure this never happens again.
