Meet: Juanita Haney: Candidate(r) for La Porte County Treasurer

Join us April 16th, 2024 at 7PM Central to meet Juanita Haney, who is running for La Porte County Treasurer in the 2024 Republican Primary.

This will be Juanita's first foray into politics, though she IS somewhat familiar with the swamp here in La Porte County. Her husband, current Commissioner Joe Haney, has frequently been the target of those who want "business as usual" (aka corruption) to continue without the scrutiny that Commissioner Haney brings.

We know her husband is pretty awesome, but what about Juanita herself?
We'll be sitting down with her to have a real conversation about her, her background, and why she's running for this office.

We ask all of our guests to provide us with a bio, and this is what we were sent:
"Juanita Haney is not your typical candidate—she's a dynamic wife of 22 years and a dedicated mother of three daughters, ages 26, 19, and 17. Hailing from a vibrant upbringing on a sugar farm in south Florida, Juanita's journey led her to Indiana after college, where she immersed herself in the fast-paced world of the University of Chicago's transplant team and various hospitals in Northwest Indiana. After years of impactful work, Juanita decided to embrace a new challenge: homeschooling her daughters full time.

Beyond her professional and family life, Juanita is a fierce advocate for animal rights and a lifelong learner. Her interests span from reading to crafting 3D paper art, collecting dolls, and even marksmanship. Juanita's zest for life is evident in her eagerness to travel, try new things, and tackle challenges head-on. As a candidate for LaPorte County Treasurer, Juanita brings a unique blend of experience, passion, and a love for adventure to the table."
