16th In our series the Prophet Micah

I. History and Prophecy  
* A. Wisdom is Learning from the Past - 1 Corinthians 10:11
* B. The Coming Lawless One - 2 Thessalonians 2:2-3, 8
* 1. His appearing will be preceded by a great Apostasy
* 2. This wicked world ruler will serve Satan
* a. The whole world, except the true disciples,  will come to follow the Lawless One
* b. How would the world come to follow someone so totally depraved?
* 3. The world will be prepared to accept Lawlessness

II. The Breaking Forth of Lawlessness - Micah 3:1-4
* A. The political leadership of the Kingdom of Judah adopt lawlessness
* 1. The royal house of David and the rulers at every level:
* a. Rejected God’s Standards of right and wrong, justice and righteousness
* b. Hebrew term “Mispat” - Deuteronomy 4:8
* 2. The very purpose for which civil government exists in God’s ordering of this world it to do justice (Mispat)
* a. True justice is always in accordance with God’s perfect standard of righteousness (Mispat)
* b. Great evils erupt when “Mispat” is rejected
* 3. Brutal, barbaric, horrific violence is unleashed when political rulers reject “Mispat” Micah 3:2-3
* B. Jesus came to fulfill the Law - Matthew 5:17
* 1. The Sacrificial Law was fulfilled by Christ’s death
* 2. The Festival Law as well as the Food Law was fulfilled by Christ - Colossians 2:15-17
* 3. The Moral Law remains as the perfect Law of Liberty - James 1:25
