Departing from the Faith - What You Need to Know and How to Avoid it

The Unlock the Bible Now ministry provides weekly Bible studies to help you understand God's word and unlock the secrets found in the Bible.

Summary:
A sitting member of Congress, Rep. Tim Walberg, recently made some asinine and demonically inspired statements about the destruction of innocent lives in Palestine. While this is par for the course for the demon-possessed leaders of all nations and is to be expected from bloodthirsty simpletons like Lindsay Graham, Rep. Walberg is supposedly an ordained pastor. I will post a link to an article that includes a reply to his statements from a Palestinian Christian named Fares Abraham. The article is titled An Open Letter To My Dear Palestinian Christian Brother Fares Abraham and was written by Pastor Chuck Baldwin.

I encourage you to read it prayerfully. I understand it is just one man’s opinion. I disagree entirely with Pastor Baldwin’s assessment of the rapture and several other statements he makes about dispensational truth. Still, Christians need to wake up and realize that many believers are departing from the faith today because of ignorant men like Rep Walberg and due to a lack of studying the Scriptures.

Show Notes:
Depart: Gr. aphistēmi (af-is’-tay-mee) - to make stand off, cause to withdraw, to remove
to excite to revolt
to stand off, to stand aloof
to go away, to depart from anyone
to desert, withdraw from one
to fall away, become faithless

Hidden Ones: Heb. צָפַן (tsaw-fan’) - to hide, treasure, treasure or store up
to hide, treasure, treasure up
to lie hidden, lurk
(Niphal) to be hidden, be stored up
(Hiphil) to hide, hide from discovery

Scriptures:
All Scripture references are from the King James Version of the Bible.

1 Timothy 4:1-5, Luke 8:11-14, Psalm 83:1-5, Matthew 13:44, Exodus 19:1-6, Psalm 135:4, Titus 2:13-14, 2 Corinthians 4:1-7, 1 Peter 2:9-10, Zechariah 12:9-14, Hosea 5:15, Romans 11:25-27, Isaiah 59:20, 2 Timothy 2:15-16

Takeaway:
Study takes work and effort, something most of us are unwilling to do. Because of this, profane and vain babblings, like those of Rep. Tim Walberg from Michigan and most of the rest of the so-called Christians in the US Congress, will continue. The question is, will you depart from the faith like them, or will you be a Berean and search the Scriptures?
