Al Gore: We have everything we need today to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions by 50%

Al Gore: "We have had these warnings in more elliptical form from the scientists for quite a long time. And I've been trying to get this message out interpreting the scientist's warnings for decades now. You know, I think that due to the fact that the warnings they issued years ago turned out to be spot on accurate should lead us to pay a little more attention to what they're saying will happen in the future if we don't implement the solutions that are available...The International Energy Agency says, and it's documented this thoroughly, we don't have to wait for new technologies...We have everything we need today with proven deployment models to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions by 50% in this decade. We have a clear line of sight to how we can get the rest of the other 50% by mid-century and we can solve this...86% of all the buildout of the solar is done with private capital. Last year world wide, if you look at the all of the new electricity generation installed world wide last year, 80% of it was solar and wind. In India it was 93%..."
