This is a discussion with Jay Richards, an author, philosopher, and professor. He is the director of the DeVos Center for Life, Religion, and Family and the William E. Simon senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation. He is the co-author of “Fight the Good Fight: How an Alliance of Faith and Reason Can Win the Culture War.”
“To queer something is to destabilize and de-center it. So, the point of queer theory is to destabilize and decenter our categories of sexual reality, which include—of course—male and female. But they also include, by the way, adult and child. Those are contested in queer theory,” says Mr. Richards.
