Oxford shooter’s parents get 10-15 years in prison for roles in massacre

James and Jennifer Crumbley, parents of the Oxford High School shooter, have been sentenced to at least 10 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter.

The sentencing, handed down by an Oakland County judge, follows guilty verdicts on four counts each earlier this year.

It marks the first time parents of a U.S. school shooter have been charged, convicted, and sentenced in connection to the shooting.

Prosecutors successfully argued that the parents displayed gross negligence by failing to intervene despite red flags in their son’s behavior, including reports of hallucinations and mental health struggles.

The judge ruled they could have prevented the tragedy. Despite facing a maximum sentence of 15 years, the Crumbleys will serve 10-15 years, with credit for time served, Click On Detroit reported.
