A Family's Experience Living with a Rare Disease

For many people, it can take years to be accurately diagnosed with a rare disease, as symptoms can be a mystery or confused with those of other, more common conditions. What many may not realize is that the symptoms may be tied to their ancestry. That was the case with Angel’s family, who battled a condition called hereditary ATTR (hATTR) amyloidosis for generations before having a name for the illness.
