The elderly and other long term care residents were abused en masse in the name of "keeping them safe". Covid was blamed for deaths that occurred due to inappropriate prescriptions with end-of-life drugs, particularly midazolam and morphine. Fearful staff followed orders which in normal times would never have been tolerated.
