A TV remake of the “Transporter” trilogy, which was rewritten and produced by Luc Besson himself, only with a casting change: the brutal courier on wheels Frank is played not by the shaven-headed Jason Statham, but by British actor Chris Vance (“Escape,” “Dexter”) with his eternal half-smile. Thank God, the funny Inspector Tarconi is played by the irreplaceable Francois Berlean from the original films. Otherwise, everything is as before - Frank effectively wipes tires on the asphalt, wears a formal suit, gets involved in dirty deals and hand-to-hand fights, falls in love with fatal beauties every episode and invariably follows the rules familiar from films: “no names”, “never open the cargo”, further down the list.
For fans of unpretentious action films about cars, explosions and beautiful women, the series is perfect - even without Statham. The footage contains the usual set of chases, shootouts and fights, sorted into forty-minute episodes. "Transporter" boasts a budget of $43 million, impressive by TV show standards, with every last penny spent on a ton of mind-blowing stunts and high-octane action.
