Morettini recipe,
For the Chocolate Cookies:

• 1 2/3 cups of flour
• 1/4 cup of cocoa powder
• 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
• 1/2 cup of butter (room temperature)
• 1 egg
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
• 1 teaspoon of baking powder
• A pinch of salt

For the Italian Meringue:

• 2 ounces of egg whites
• 1/4 cup of sugar
• 1 tablespoon of water

Instructions

1. Chocolate Cookies:
• Cream together the butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Mix in the egg and vanilla.
• Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Stir into the creamy mixture until well blended.
• Shape the dough into cookies and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 10-12 minutes. Let them cool down.
2. Italian Meringue:
• Beat the egg whites until they start to foam.
• Heat the sugar and water to 248°F and slowly pour it over the whipped egg whites, continue beating until the mixture cools down.
3. Assembly:
• Spoon a dollop of meringue on top of each chocolate cookie.
• Melt some chocolate separately and dip the cookies with the meringue into the melted chocolate.
• Allow to cool until the chocolate sets.
