Mexico–United States border crisis is an ongoing migrant crisis in North America concerning the migration of undocumented immigrants from Latin America through Mexico and into the United States. What happens to migrants when they cross the border and what are the consequences of illegal cross border migration is something my guest explains in this episode. Born in Cuba months before the Castro Revolution, De La Torre and his family migrated to the United States as refugees when he was an infant. For a while the U.S. government considered him and his family as "illegal aliens". De La Torre has been an expert commentator concerning ethical issues (mainly Hispanic religiosity and immigration rights) on several local, national, and international media outlets. He talks about ethics of place. A true ethics of place is one that would attend to the local, the particular, the singular, and the concrete.
