According to the Kinney County Sheriff, the soldier reversed course upon nearing a newly operational pop-up tactical Border Patrol checkpoint in Kinney County, prompting agents to take action in trying to stop the SUV. Consequently, the Texas Department of Public Safety intervened in the pursuit, deploying spike strips to ultimately halt the vehicle, which is presently under investigation.
