A major spring storm battered the Northeast with heavy snow, rain, and high winds, leaving nearly 700,000 homes and businesses without power at some point.

Tragically, two fatalities were reported: one in a New York City suburb due to a falling tree and another in New Hampshire caused by a fire sparked by the weather.

Maine and New Hampshire were most affected by power outages, with heavy, wet snow bringing down trees and lines.

The storm also disrupted travel, with numerous accidents reported and flights canceled or delayed.

While some enjoyed the wintry weather, many faced treacherous conditions, including crashes on roads and highways.

In southern areas, heavy rain and strong winds prevailed, the Associated Press reported.
