In 2021, Poore was one of 55 NSW Police officers who lost their jobs after they refused to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
"I started to ask questions. No one could answer my questions, no one could tell me what was in it, and they couldn't tell me any long-term data that they had on it, and I didn't want to take the risk," Poore says.

Former NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller issued a direction in 2021 "that all members of the NSW Police Force were required to be vaccinated against COVID-19". The 55 NSW Police officers were removed from the force, under what's called a section 181D, because they didn't comply with the mandate.

But this severe misconduct dismissal is still having consequences for these former police officers, who didn't want the COVID-19 shots.
