New York bail reform legislation goes into effect on January 1; New York State Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis pushes back saying that instead if a blanket no bail policy, the state should consider one's prior criminal history and dangerousness, as well as ensure the accused receive their constitutionally protected right to a speedy trial.
