Green, Green Rocky Road is a song was written by, Len Chandler? Based on other older traditional songs best I can gather. Dave Van Ronk`s incredible interpretation of the song is the one that became famous. Oscar Isaac played this song exceptionally well for the Coen Brothers movie, Inside Llewyn Davis. I came up with this banjo interpretation. Right hand technique is known as two finger thumb lead.

Green, Green Rocky Road Lyrics

[Verse 1]
When I go by Baltimore
Need no carpet on my floor
You come along, follow me
We'll go down to Galilee

[Hook]
Green green rocky road
You promenade in green
Tell me who ya love
Tell me who ya love

[Verse 2]
See that crow up in the sky
He don't walk, he just fly
He don't walk, he don't run
He keep on flapping, til' the sun

[Hook]
Howlin' Green green rocky road
You promenade in green
Tell me who ya love
Tell me who ya love

[Verse 3]
Little Miss Jane you run to wall
Don't you stumble, Don't you fall
Don't you sing, Don't you shout
When I sing you come runnin' out

Howlin' Green green rocky road
You Promenade in green
Tell me who ya love
Tell me who ya love

[Verse 4]
Hooka-dooka soda cracker
Does your mama chew tobacco?
If your mama chews tobacco
Hooka-dooka, hooka-dooka soda cracker, yes

[Hook]
Green green rocky road
You promenade in green
Tell me who ya love
Tell me who ya love

[Verse 5]
When I go by Baltimore
Needin' no carpet on my floor
Ya Come along, follow me
There's a man in Galilee

[Hook]
Howlin' Green green rocky road
You promenade in green
Tell me who ya love
Tell me who ya love
