Central Bank Digital Currencies: They're Here

We discussed the coming of Central Bank Digital Currencies during previous Secret War on Cash podcasts. They are here now. Will CBDCs become the future of domestic and global banking? In 2023, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen called the idea of CBDCs "transformative," but also said our transition to such needs a dominant dollar to keep the digital currency plan stable. Due to over-printing and devaluation of our fiat currency, and the looming gold-backed BRICS currency, the days of dollar dominance may be over, making way for global de-dollarization. With that, what could a shift to a Central Bank Digital Currency mean if it happens under these conditions? On the BRICS side, the alliance is already looking into the idea.
