NATO shouldn't have started the RUSSIA - UKRAINE WAR. | Douglas Macgregor says WE ARE NOT READY

Ukrainians want to survive this war, and that's becoming increasingly difficult. Zelensky and the radicals around him are essentially committed to fighting this war to the last Ukrainian. I'm certain that Mr. Zelensky and his associates are eager, at some point, to retire to their estates in Florida, Venice, or Cyprus to capitalize on the billions they've managed to steal or siphon from the aid provided by the US. Remember, Ukraine is arguably one of the most corrupt places in the world. A friend of mine who spent time in the old Soviet Union and also lived in Mexico returned from a visit to Mexico and said it's hard to believe, but Ukraine is more corrupt than Mexico. Fourteen million Ukrainians have left the country, presumably never to return. When asked in Germany, France, Croatia, Spain, or wherever they go, they respond that they will never return. There will likely be a significant effort to regain control of this situation in some manner, but it may not succeed once this war ends with a complete and utter defeat of the Ukrainian regime.
Russia today is stronger than it has been in 30 or 40 years. The Russian military establishment is now more potent and capable than it was in the mid-1980s, as wars typically degrade a military force. However, the Russians have been very careful, deliberate, and cautious about the expenditure of life. Looking at the Russian casualties in this war, there are probably 50,000 killed and maybe another 40 to 50,000 wounded, compared to the Ukrainians who have recorded 400,000 dead. So, the ratio is one to five.

Manpower is leaving Ukraine as quickly as possible because people don't want to be thrown into the meat grinder. You can't defeat what the Russians have built. They were the first, back in the 1970s, to understand the criticality of linking intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance in space, as well as on land and at sea, with strike weapons. What are strike weapons? Rockets, missiles, and guided artillery for precision.

They've done that extremely well. So, that's one of the reasons they have thousands of guns, hundreds of rocket launchers, hundreds of ballistic missile launchers, cruise missiles, and so forth. These are then linked to ISR, so the response time is almost instantaneous.

For example, if the Ukrainian formation is located at this spot next to this building on the outskirts of, say, Kharkiv, they can have missiles, rockets, or drones on the way to those targets within perhaps five, six, or seven minutes. This is a very well-structured, well-organized machine. The machine is grinding up everything in front of it, and it's not going to be defeated. On the other hand, much of the equipment we send over to Ukraine is, quite frankly, obsolete; that is, it's very old. We've given them a few new items, but not much. We sent them some Patriot missiles, which are the newest items we've sent to them. That could cost about 750 million dollars, covering just 33 Patriot missiles. These missiles are used to shoot down aircraft or incoming cruise missiles. Opposing forces, every time you talk to air defense personnel, will tell you that if there's a target out there, you shoot at least two missiles at it to ensure you hit the target. With this rate of expenditure, you'd run out of our missiles in a matter of days. 33 missiles would be gone in two or three days. You can't possibly defeat the thousands of projectiles being hurled in your direction.
