Murder on Campus: The Laken Riley case

On February 22, 2024, 22 year old nursing student Laken Riley, was abducted and brutally murdered allegedly by Venezuelan immigrant José Antonio Ibarra.

At the time of her murder by blunt force trauma, Laken was jogging at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. Her body was found in Oconee Forest Park

The suspect, José Antonio Ibarra, is accused of illegally entering the US. He has been charged with felony murder, false imprisonment, and kidnapping.
