The National Transportation Safety Board have started its investigations into the tragic collapse of Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge, including boarding the cargo ship that crashed into the bridge's pylon.

Investigators have determined that 23 people, including 21 crew members and two pilots, were on board the vessel at the time of the accident, and it was carrying 764 tonnes of hazardous materials.

Video and audio data were also obtained, providing a record of the six hours between midnight and 6am in which the fatal incident occurred.

The bodies of two men were pulled from the water today, found trapped in a red ute, while the search for the other four missing men has been called off.
