How did the 9/11 attack affect the United States?
• How was your community impacted by the terrorist attack of 9/11
2001?
My community was impacted by the terrorist attack of 9/11 2001 by giving us something to talk about at work. I remember that morning very clearly. It was 5 am in the morning in Lodi, CA. I was 28 years old at the time, and I was getting ready to go to work at Glassworks LLC, where we made everything glass. Windows, mirrors, etc. I was sitting down on my couch, drinking my coffee, and watching the news when I saw the first plane hit the first building on TV. I wasn't sure what I was looking at first; it seemed as if I was watching some sort of movie production, so I finished my coffee and went to work. While at work, some of the guys seemed a little rattled, and as we worked, they spoke of what I had seen on TV, and then it hit me. There might be a war because America just got hit, and I might get sent to go fight terrorists, I thought. I had a young family at the time. I had two babies, twins. Zyania and Memo Jr, I didn’t want to go to war, but some of the guys in the factory wanted to go kill terrorists so bad they tasted it, most were active or ex-gang members, so they wanted to go to war.
• How did the 9/11 attack affect your State?
I did not see too many changes in California, nor do I remember.
• How did the 9/11 attack affect the United States?
The 9/11 attack affected the United States citizens with impactful legislative changes by passing of the Patriot Act, which was passed only 45 days after the attacks and significantly weakened privacy laws expanded surveillance for the US intelligence agencies directed at undermining our constitution and targeting US citizens, the American people and not "terrorists" unless the "terrorists" are the American people. It has caused distrust of government by the people of the USA because this "attack" has more questions than answers that still in 2024 have not been answered, just like the assassination of JFK, when the CIA coined the term "conspiracy theorist" to stigmatize anyone who is looking for answers and is using critical thinking and observing the evidence that outweighs the narrative presented and investigate and search for the truth because the narrative given is just not adding up. The “Patriot Act” was created to undermine our American freedoms, so that is how the 9/11 attack affected the United States. Please watch the following video reported by our national news media in the United States of America in 2001 and ask yourself, is the story we are being told match what this video is showing me? WARNING! Requires critical thinking skills. Use your brain when watching not your feelings or emotions:
• What changes/responses have you seen implemented in your
community and your country due to the 9/11 attack?
The changes/responses I have seen implemented in my community and my country due to the 9/11 attack Is the persecution of Edward Snowden for blowing the whistle on the NSA https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/ten-years-ago-edward-snowden-blew-the-whistle-on-the-uss-most-secretive-spy-agency/ar-AA1ckKGo
and other government entities about how the government was using the “Patriot Act” to spy on American Citizens and violating the 4th amendment of our constitution which states:
Fourth Amendment
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Violation of American Citizens privacy is violation of the Fourth Amendment. The U.S. government still wants to charge Edward Snowden with the antidemocratic Espionage Act which indicates that the government is not for the people, because a U.S. Citizen (Edward Snowden) calls the government out by practicing his rights as a citizen of the U.S.A., on their violation of a constitutional right, the government will persecute a citizen to the full extent of the law?
In my humble opinion, Edward Snowden is an American hero for calling out the US government on their U.S. constitution violation by the NSA through the Patriot Act the worst legislation among others to be past and used against the American people.
