Several states, including California, Rhode Island, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington, are planning to ban the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035 under the Advanced Clean Cars II legislation.

This legislation aims to shift towards zero-emission vehicles, with targets set for increasing sales of electric vehicles (EVs) over the next decade.

While other states have adopted similar legislation, they haven’t committed to a complete ban by 2035.

The federal government also announced plans to phase out gas cars by 2032, with requirements for automakers to reduce emissions, the Daily Mail reported.
