Rudolph Valentino (1895-1926), Paramount's "Latin Lover", the "Great Lover" died from peritonitis after his divorce from Natacha Rambova (1897-1966). With Rambova, Valentino engaged in seances, automatic writing, the Occult and Spiritualism. Medical research from the 2000s reveals one cause of peritonitis: drug use.
