Gaza War Sit Rep Day 171: Why didn't the US veto?

Why didn't the US veto the Security Council ceasefire resolution? Also al-Shifa continues; fighting in Beit Hanoun and elsewhere too; assaults on hospitals in Khan Yunis, al-Amal and Nasser; fighting all over West Bank - was that a real weapons cache that was seized? Massive demonstrations in Jordan... and no calm on the other fronts either.
