BUKELE SHUTS DOWN 18 SUREÑOS GANG RESURGENCE

Sunday morning, the president of El Salvador Nayib Bukele announced on X that 5,000 soldiers and police officers have been deployed to completely dismantle the 18 Surenos Gang in the districts of San José Cancasque, San Antonio Los Ranchos, Potonico, and San Isidro Labrador. The response from the president is followed by two homicides earlier in the week in the Northern part of El Salvador. Two culprits have been captured and Bukele states that they will not stop until they eradicate what is left of the gangs.
