Canadian Immigration Minster Marc Miller said today that Canada would be reducing temporary residents and placing a cap on temporary immigration. They seek to reduce temporary residents to 5% of the total population for 3 years instead of 6.5% from 2023 (Statistics Canada has the population at 40,970,781 - So 2,048,539 instead of 2,663,100).

The RCMP released a report speaking about how people under 35 may never own a home, that the recession will decline living standards, and that they fear unrest. They also warned of disillusionment with the government from "conspiracy theories, paranoia, and misinformation" which could cause social and political polarization.

Conservative Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre started a non-confidence vote in an attempt to prevent Trudeau's government from passing a carbon tax hike ($15 per tonne), which would have dissolved the government and started an electoral process.
