Last year, Minivan Musician had the honor of interviewing Detective First Class, Mike O'Keefe. He is a retired New York City Homicide Detective who made headlines in a case in which he had to defend himself and ki*l a criminal who attacked him. Beyond that, he was a standout crime fighter for decades and he is now retired and writing the Paddy Durr series of novels - a great collection of police and crime-inspired books that have received great reviews. We talked about everything from "the job" to politics to writing and family. This was one of our favorite interviews and a few parts of it are considered controversial.
