Sleeping Sea Lion Scares Young Kid

Sea lions: the lions of the sea. And yet, I would persist they’re more like the pit bulls of the sea— big, often cuddly, but also a little scary and with a bark that definitely gets your attention. In captivity they seem to be a bit more approachable, but in the wild? Keeping your distance is probably some pretty good advice.

This boy is certainly on the fence about getting closer to this sea beast at the outset of this video, but his mom gives him the extra little push he needs. He starts off slowly, then stops, still a good ten feet away as many other unseen sea lions bleat in the distance.
