Saturday marked the 62nd anniversary of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Scranton which originally began in 1962.

Before crowds began to form at the parade route, many Scrantonians kicked off their St. Patrick’s Day festivities with a Mass at the St. Peter's Cathedral.

More 100 people filled the pews as Bishop Joseph C. Bambera led Saturday's mass.

After the mass, many lined the streets of Scranton to see the parade that has become a staple of the city.
