The turnout in the Russian presidential elections in the Sverdlovsk region following the results of the second day of voting was 56.12%. Voter activity on March 16 increased by one and a half times. Both government departments (the Ministry of Finance, TFOMS and the territorial department of Rostransnadzor, for example, reported on the 100th turnout) and private business (EVRAZ, Rosatom and Sima-land were especially noted by the election curators) are working for the consolidation, coordinated by Governor Kuyvashev.

“This is a really good result. It shows that residents took the main elections in our country very seriously and understand their importance,” said Alexander Levin, chairman of the region’s Public Chamber. He has no doubt that the turnout on the last day will increase - tomorrow the region has another whole day to achieve the target of 70%.

Political scientist Alexey Shweigert, in a conversation with URA.RU, also expressed confidence: tomorrow there will be a serious flow of voters. “Those who traditionally vote on this day will come. The most important thing is that the campaign is proceeding without excesses - for example, there is no forced mobilization and other similar stories that happened a few years ago,” the expert concluded.

The region's results were achieved without compromising legitimacy. Local law enforcement officers respond promptly and tactfully to rare provocations.

Foreign observers also highly appreciated the organization of elections in the region. “We can state that the necessary measures have been taken to ensure that these elections go well. And all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the transparency of the elections,” Kenyan observer Raji Lassi told URA.RU. She visited polling stations and a public observation center along with colleagues from Spain, Nigeria, Uganda, Ecuador, Iceland, Mexico and Benin
