Stop a Knife-Save a Life

Since the International Association of Chiefs of Police began keeping statistics in 1987, an estimated 31-hundred police officers’ have been saved by their wearing bullet-proof vests. But not just “bullet-proof.” Today’s Kevlar-constructed vests protect against a variety of threats.
Today, those vests can also stop a knife…and save a life.
Just ask a Suffolk County, New York Sheriff’s Deputy. He was one of three officers answering a domestic violence call one snowy Saturday morning, when an enraged occupant exited the house with a massive knife drawn. Attempts to taze the offender failed. He chased a second officer across the icy front lawn. As the surprised deputy fell backwards, the crazed assailant slashed him repeatedly, the blade causing massive injuries to an exposed arm. But that Kevlar vest protected the officer’s heart, deflecting blows which otherwise would, no doubt, have proven fatal.
The entire episode was over within seconds as officer number three pulled his service weapon and fired repeatedly at the attacker until he was neutralized.
Whether you call them bullet-proof vests, active shooter vests, or “active stabber” vests, the name is not important. What matters is the lives of the courageous officers and other first responders who, daily, put their lives on the line for us.
Since beginning our crusade to save police lives nearly three decades ago, InVest USA has donated over 65-hundred vests to law enforcement agencies across the nation. But we won’t be satisfied until all 400-thousand officers are protected.
Heroes save lives. When you save a hero’s life, you, too, become a hero. And it’s so easy to do.
Show your true colors. Prove that “blue lives matter.” Visit InVest U S A dot org and click the “donate” tab at the top or bottom of the page. A box will open at PayPal where you can help purchase the Kevlar vests that our law enforcement authorities so desperately require.

On their behalf, thank you.
