PART 1: "George Jayne Hit by Silas Jayne - Mount Emblem Cem., Elmhurst, ILL." (12Aug2020)
*Silas Carter Jayne was a Chicago-based stable owner who was implicated in multiple notorious crimes.
*He was convicted of rape as a teenager for which he served a year in reformatory. He was convicted for conspiracy to murder in 1973 of George Jayne, his maternal brother, for which he served seven years imprisonment.
*After his death, Silas Jayne was linked to one of the most notorious crimes in the city's history, the 1955 Peterson–Schuessler murder of three young boys. Jayne is also suspected of having been involved in the 1956 murder of the two Grimes sisters & in the 1977 disappearance of heiress Helen Brach.
*Helen Vorhees Brach was an American multimillionaire widow whose wealth had come from marrying into the E. J. Brach & Sons Candy Company fortune. Brach disappeared on February 17, 1977 & there was an investigation into the case uncovered serious criminal activity associated with Chicago horse stable owners including Silas Jayne & Richard Bailey. The hitmen was was carried out by Curtis & Kenneth Hansen, who worked for Silas, in concert with Anthony Spilotro and/or his crew. After initially taking her dead body to Kenneth Hansen's Sky Hi Stable at 17201 S. Central Avenue Tinley Park, she was ultimately dropped into a molten steel caldron & disintegrated in a Gary Indiana steel mill.

PART 2: "The Peterson / Scheussler Tragedy, St. Joseph Cem., River Grove, ILL." (15Aug2020)
*1) Peterson Scheussler Murders - On October 18, 1955, the naked bodies of three young boys: John Schuessler, aged 13, his brother Anton Jr., aged 11, & their friend Robert Peterson, aged 14, were found in a ditch in the Robinson Woods Forest Preserve on the northwest side of Chicago. When found, they had been missing for two days. The boys had traveled from Jefferson Park to downtown Chicago to see Walt Disney Productions' The African Lion at the Loop Theater, 165 North State Street on the afternoon of October 16.
*Nearly forty years later, ATF agents investigating the February 17, 1977 disappearance of Brach's candy heiress Helen Brach were told by informants that Kenneth Hansen (one of Silas Jayne's employees) had boasted of committing the murders. A second informant had told the FBI of Hansen's boasts in the 1970s, but apparently no action was taken.
*It finally emerged in 2001 that Hansen, who was 22 years old at the time, did in fact kill the 3 boys. Found guilty at a 2002 retrial with a subsequent affirmation of the verdict in a 2004 appeal, Hansen was sentenced to life imprisonment. He died at Pontiac Correctional Center on September 12, 2007.
*2) Lester Gillis, AKA "Baby Face Nelson" - known also by the alias George Nelson, was an American bank robber. He became partners with John Dillinger, helping him escape from prison in Crown Point, Indiana. Nelson & the remaining gang members were labeled as public enemy number one. He was given the nickname Baby Face Nelson due to his small stature & somewhat youthful appearance, although few dared call him that to his face. Criminal associates instead called him "Jimmy".
*A short but furious gun battle between FBI agents & Nelson took place on November 27, 1934, outside Chicago in the town of Barrington, culminating in the deaths of Nelson, & FBI agents Herman "Ed" Hollis & Samuel P. Cowley.
*Nelson was responsible for killing more FBI agents than any other person.

PART 3: "The Cheryl Lynn Rude Hit - Bronswood Cemetery, Oak Brook, IL" (17Aug2020)
*1) Cheryl Lynn "Cherie" Rude of Hinsdale was the unfortunate victim of a car bomb that was intended for George Jayne, who was the half brother of Silas Jayne. Silas Jayne was also suspected to have been behind the disappearance of Ann Miller, 21, Patricia Blough, 19, & Renee Bruhl, 20, who were last seen July 2, 1966 at the Indiana Dunes State Park after leaving their purses & car keys on the beach and boarding a boat similar to one owned by one of his stable workers. Miller & Blough may have been witnesses to the planting of the car bomb that killed 22-year-old Cheryl Lynn Rude on June 14, 1965 as she attempted to move his car for him.
