5 Arguments To Help You Decide If Google Is Good Or Evil
The video you have the chance to see here is on one in the popular comedy series on Cracked.com. If you never heard of it before, or better put, if you have been living under a rock for the past ten years, Cracked.com is a humor website with over 300 million monthly page views. The website was founded in 2005, by Jack O’Brien and is currently owned by E. W. Scripps. It is descended from Cracked magazine, which dates back to 1958.
In the video you are about to see, Cracked authors explore a much polarizing topic: if Google.com is evil or not. Some die-hard supporters deem it as a “savior of innovation”, while cynics paint Google as a digital Big Brother. Let us see the pros and cons:
1. In 2011, G-Men hid US$10B in an offshore bank account, avoiding about US$2B in unpaid taxes, and their CEO even bragged about it. And they did nothing illegal! You would brag about it if you were that smart. Meanwhile, Google has worked with charity technology trust to bring about 30,000 different charities to the national spotlight.
2. Self-driving cars. Google is bringing us the future! These cars might save you the effort of driving home after a long day, and safely, but in the same time rest assured that they will also store every single text message and email you send, just as the Google street cars did with the tiniest bit of data they came across.
These are just two sets of opinions. We don’t want to spoil it for you by saying more. Pour yourselves a cup of coffee and enjoy it!
